ISCA announces the acquisition of a Fortus 400mc Fused Deposition Modelling technology to extend their prototyping capability to 3D Printing

3D printing is rapidly becoming an essential part of the rapid protoyping and design processes. Fused Deposition Modelling provides designers and inventors with fast, accurate and cost efficient modelling capability. 

The recent aquistion of Fortus 400mc Fused Deposition Modeling technology compliments ISCA experience and capability in industrial design and engineering. Enhancing prototyping accuracy, fabrication cost and time.

Damien Miller, General manager of ISCA says. "Design is an iterative process and unlike previous methods of fabrication, the Fused Depsoition Modeling technology provides many benefits for our client. Namely turn around time and cost." The Fortus 400c highly configurable and can produce real parts, conceptual models, functional prototypes, manufacturing tools and end-use parts.

Unlike cheaper domestic grade 3D printers the Fortus 400mc can produce models and parts in nine different material substrates (thermoplastics) and a variety of colours. This means the final model can often be stress tested in real working conditions or used as a proof of concept for client acceptance or market testing. The quality is comparable (sometimes better) to commercially manufactured parts. "We are regularly engaged in prototyping and design for our clients. What makes this technology great is the fact we actually manufacture bespoke short run parts."

Damien goes on to say "the manufacturing industry in Australia is suffering at the hands of cheaper offshore production. We'd really like to see more development (and production) stay in Australia. We hope we can help inventors and product developers get to market quicker."
