altVSL Australia ask ISCA to
lead the design process from concept to prototype and ultimately to the injection moulded final product.

ISCA Bar ChairVSL Australia Pty. Ltd. asked ISCA to research and design an adjustable injection moulded bar chair to support their post-tensioned system in a concrete slab. ISCA lead the process from concept to prototype and ultimately to the final injection moulded product.

The initial prototypes were additive manufactured (3D printed) in ABS on ISCA's Fortus 400mc. Once tested and approved, all tooling for injection moulding was manufactured in house at ISCA and up to 12,000 assemblies were injection moulded at various heights. ISCA can solve your problems and lead the process from concept to ultimately to the final product.

This work portrays how additive manufacturing adds a valuable step to the design process. Not only can it help sell the concept to a client or investor, but it also demonstrates form, fit and function in practice. ISCA offers a range of materials, including ABS and Polycarbonate, in a range of colours. For short run components, you may choose to bypass conventional plastic injection moulding and toolmaking and go straight to 3D printing on demand.
